FOR YOU.
it began with a dream. a hug, almost felt.
MYSTERY, MYSTERY WAS HE.
secrets, secrets had thee.
bittersweet ambiguity. clouding my mind, my memories. hazy pink, turning blue grey.
a midsummer's night dream, suffused with the sweet smell of sweat and crooked smiles, turned upside down inside out. where the days are long as can be, and the nights, being short and fizzy, never came soon enough. autumn leaves keep falling, never hitting the pile on the ground. in the crisp cool air, words are exchanged, dreams shared and sighs blended in harmony. soft footsteps in the dead of the night, in the dark of the woods. an empty rattan basket posing with a tattered picnic mat, in all solitude by the blooming butterflies and flying flowers (that never grows old), smiling stupidly. spring, sprung up on us. a sudden twist, and hearts freeze in the winter cold. snowmen stay very still, shyly counting their missing buttons, carrot noses artfully bent. snow angels imprinted, unable to fly free. just when i think its all ice, turns out that in the middle of the lake it's freezing water, but as cold as ice.
(EH! then she had a dream. if only she knew.)
it ended with a dream. a kiss, almost blown. trembling, almost touching.
eyes wide awake. and i sit up straight in the middle of my sleep. can't get back to where i was, slumbering soundly. in a daze, waiting for a chapter to close by itself, waiting for sunrise. dawn breaks through the windows, filtering my thoughts, which has become a thing of the untouchable past, unchartered grounds, of a night long gone, never again.
countless dreams in-between, soon to be forgotten at the first stroke of daylight. that it all really began in the times when the bones of the love laws were set in place, and the flesh is learning how to feel pain. tearing it apart from love, again and again. tried and tested.
touch.
touch-me-nots,
touched.
my heart is like a paperback novel, throw it in the air, watch the pages fly.
in your eyes i see. almost love, almost here.
XXOO.
