a not-so-bumpy bus ride, sitting by the window. the scenery changes by the seconds; coloured vehicles on four wheels, two wheels, metal bodies grinning madly, trees a passing blur of green in various shades. neverending big blue sky, cotton candy clouds ready to dissolve.

admidst the roads and buildings, melted with these solid structures, i see other things. the backview of sad, bad goodbyes, the faces of hellos slightly tilted to the side, looking behind. a rocking horse that isn't quite a chair, doesn't gallop, doesn't neigh. actually, it doesn't even rock anymore. pats of butter flying, morphing into butterflies. green apples turning red before you hear the crunch of the first bite. songs that fill in the gaps, like sand falling amongst pebbles. misty rain, frogs hopping out of umbrellas. a ribbon that is bent on getting tied, wants so badly to be tied. invisible presents. little stories that never lived long enough to see the last page. charm (used to harm), turned on like the watertap. wholesome nights that float by. square-shaped polka dots. a cottage by the dried-up sea, adorned with cream-coloured roses. flat hair that stands out. yellow giraffes eating rainbow cupcakes. a world in black and white. thief of time, robber of memories, rapist of souls. a glint of hope gleams, bounces off a rusty blade. the flu bug flying around. a straw hat sitting nicely on a coconut tree. a bunch of words on a computer screen.

my stop. tap.

orchid and autumn streaks stretches across the sky, boundless yonder. over the hills and far away...
